The Environmental Education Foundation offers financial support to encourage Geneva Lake area teachers and students to become involved in Yerkes Observatory community outreach programs. Currently, Yerkes offers several student and teacher enrichment programs on astronomy, which includes using the observatory labs and telescopes. The Foundation accepts applications and selects the Yerkes programs to be supported, and works with the Yerkes staff to plan and conduct the program. This program is limited to participation of Geneva Lake area teachers and students.
On-going programs:
- Active Astronomy SOFIA Project with area high school students
- Hands-On Universe Jupiter and it's Moons Project with area high school students
